It's time for another travel update and this time we are in.. MEXICO! So I have to admit I am a little bias when it comes to visiting Mexico as Mexican food is my absolute favourite. Enchiladas, fajitas, guacamole, quesadillas.. I could probably write a whole article just on how much I ADORE to eat Mexican food. Anyway, back to the real reason we are here - Chankanaab Beach Adventure Park. Chankanaab Beach Adventure Park is, without a doubt, one of the best places to visit in Cozumel, Mexico due to the range of activities and areas it has to offer - anything from a lazy beach day in a hammock to an insane adrenaline rush on the zip line.
The park opens 8am-4pm and is only a 10 minute taxi ride from the cruise terminal. The entry ticket price is around $21 (USD) for adults and $14 (USD) which includes: Sea lion show, dolphin presentation, manatee exhibition, crocodile exhibition and eco-archaeological tour. You can also experience snorkelling, scuba diving, spa and swimming with dolphins for an additional cost. There is restaurants, snack bars, bathrooms and lockers all located within the park. The different restaurants have a lot to offer ranging from typical Mexican food to your standard burger and fries and is reasonably priced at around $10-$20 per meal. I personally got to experience the Dolphin Swim whilst visiting Chankanaab and it was definitely an UNFORGETTABLE day.. although it can end up being quite pricey. The park make it pretty impossible to take your own photos during the swim and instead provide a professional photographer throughout the activities, finished up by asking for upto $300 (USD) to have your photos on a disc. I opted to buy two prints and was devastated to find, after leaving the park, that they had actually given me one photo of myself and one photo of someone else (?!?) so I HIGHLY recommend checking your photos BEFORE you leave. Other than my little photo mishap I would definitely recommend giving this experience a go! * Make sure you take a towel! The second time I visited we ditched the beach life and visited the botanical gardens with the crocodile exhibition - I'm not going to lie crocodiles are pretty boring animals but the gardens are beyond beautiful. Its a very peaceful area.
