Keeping it short and sweet, here is my top 10 reasons why you should work on-board a cruise ship..

1. Money - Whilst earning money on-board you literally have no out-going expenses. Your accommodation, food, water and all other basic necessities are included. 2. Countries & Culture! - What better way to explore new countries and cultures than to wake up in a new country everyday? 3. Sunsets - Being way out at sea in the middle of nowhere can sound a little daunting, that is until you see the breath-taking sunsets. Be sure to have your camera handy AT ALL TIMES. 4. Friendship - People come and go whilst working on cruise ships as often as every week however with sometimes up to 2000 people working on-board you will definitely find yourself a friend for life. Crew members come from all over the world making those friendships a lot more special. 5. Food - Working in such a diverse sector often means a variety of food is available on board. From typical English dishes to an exotic Caribbean stew - definitely worth a try! 6. Parties!! - The crew have their own bar(s) on-board with a different party almost every night. From fancy dress to celebrating the independence of countries you'd never even heard of. The parties you experience on-board will be unforgettable. 7. The ship - Yes, the ship itself is often a bonus to being a cruise ship worker. Experiencing the fancy restaurants, the zip-line, glamorous jewellery shops and the top deck swimming pools is something only a lot of people can dream of. 8. Language - As I mentioned, ships crew can be made up of sometimes close to SIXTY different nationalities. That means there is a lot of different languages on-board. English is the priority language which must be spoken at pretty much all times but most ships offer free language courses in a ‘cyber cafe’ area. You’ll also pick up random words from co-workers and guests - even if they are naughty ones! 9. Extra Certificates - After leaving your job on-board as a 'sales associate' you now also hold certificates in crowd management, safety, basic fire-fighting and first-aid. That solid two weeks of training all seems worth it when your CV looks awesome! 10. Memories - Alright so I already mentioned countries but seriously - one day you can be eating fajitas in Mexico with a guy from Bulgaria and the next you are swimming with dolphins with a bunch of Indians girls!
