La Spezia Harbour, Italy

And we are back in Italy!
This time we have given up the sight-seeing and we are going to relax by the pool.
La Spezia is a city in Northern Italy.
It is a main departure point for the Cinque Terre (by train or boat). Cinque Terre meaning "Five Lands" is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera and is comprised of five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore.
I highly recommend visiting ALL five villages whenever possible as they are beyond beautiful and offer some delicious Italian food, however, it is sometimes nice to take a day to relax and where better to do so than by the local harbour?
Akua Lounge Bar & Pool is a place I spent many of my days, a beautiful area over-looking the harbour, with full view of the cruise ships docked in port on one side and some very fancy yachts on the other.. (plus an amazing gelato store less than five minutes away).

Akua provides access to the swimming pool from 9am-6pm, a sun lounger, sun umbrella, towels, Wi-Fi and a light lunch for €30 (EURO) or you can opt for the half day (after 2pm without lunch) for €15 (EURO).
There is also a pool bar serving alcoholic drinks and soft drinks as well as tea and coffee (but it is rather expensive!).
Akua is just a short walk from the cruise terminal, over a wooden bridge which people have actually started adding 'love-locks' to which makes it a quaint little attraction in itself.
So, if its a lazy day in La Spezia you're looking for then this is my recommendation (along with the mint chocolate ice-cream shown above).
Addio bellezze! ♥
